Perhaps I’m feeling nostalgic. Or maybe it’s because kids today don’t know the pure joy of camping in front of the only TV set in a home on Saturday mornings, eating a bowl of cereal, and watching cartoons.
Whatever the reason, cartoon characters have been on my mind this week so why don’t we write about them?

Here’s what I wrote:
I would be Woody Woodpecker! I have always loved his flame-red signature hairstyle, his blue and white outfit, his long beak, his big eyes, and his infectious laugh. Maybe it’s because I’m an amateur bird watcher, but I think Woody is the best cartoon character ever because he shares many traits with the pileated woodpecker. And what’s not to love about his family members’ names? Who can forget his significant other Winnie Woodpecker along with his niece Splinter and his nephew Knothead? I would love to flit around, being loud and obnoxious, albeit in a fun way.
